How does Cyberspace Affect Gender Roles in the American Family?

    There is no noticeable difference in computer ability in boys and girls until age six.  It is at this time that boys become more interested in computer software, with parents buying twice as much software for boys than girls.  Most of these computer games used in systems or computer programs display strong mysogenistic ideals that are exposed to boys at a very early age.  (Martin 1998)

    When focusing on the interaction between husbands and wives within the family setting, technology seems to also play a role in the strength and closeness of marital relationships.
